Before you get started

System requirements

Find the right desktop setup for your ROContour Workstation.

Desktop

macOS

Apple silicon and Intel Macs

System
macOS 12 or later recommended. Check the minimum version on your installer.
Processor
Choose ARM64 for Apple silicon, x64 for Intel, or Universal when available.
Desktop

Windows

64-bit desktop and laptop PCs

System
Windows 11, 64-bit, recommended. Windows 10, 64-bit, requires ongoing security updates.
Processor
Intel or AMD x64. A Windows ARM installer is not currently offered.

Recommended for a comfortable workflow

These recommendations support a comfortable educational workflow. Larger image series, fusion, and 3D review may require additional memory and storage.

Memory
16 GB RAM or more recommended. 8 GB may suit smaller educational datasets.
Storage
An SSD with enough free space for the installer, local imaging files, and saved projects.
Display & input
A larger desktop display and a mouse or trackpad are recommended for contouring and multi-view review.
Connectivity
Internet access for sign-in, activation, and account services. Collaborative sessions require a reliable connection and compatible app versions.

Available platforms depend on the published release. The installer card shows its architecture, minimum OS, and file size.
